Château Faugères Saint-Émilion 2010

Discover this Saint-Émilion 2010

Chateau Faugeres sits in a cohort of producers known for their more progressive take on wines of the appellation, and considered, in a way, diverging from traditions of Bordeaux. The wine is sourced from 20 hectares of  vineyards, set to 85% Merlot, with the blend taking on Cabernet Franc and a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is sent to bottle unfined and unfiltered, lending textural complexity and a 'wild' streak to the wines. 2010 is extremely expressive, vibrant and imbued with a graphite-like mineral vein. It's a fine wine from St-Emillion in a stellar year, but toeing an entirely exciting line.

Saint-Émilion 2010 is by Château Faugères. It has a critic score of 92 out of 100 based on an aggregation of ratings from our partner sites. This 2010 vintage is available in 750ml volume.

Blended Red Wines

Blended Red refers to red wines made from a combination of different grape varieties. These blends can vary widely in style and flavor profile, depending on the grapes used and the winemaking techniques employed. The ABV for blended red wines typically ranges from 12-15%. They are popular for their complexity and the winemaker's ability to create a balanced and harmonious wine.

Blended red wines are common in many wine regions, with notable examples including Bordeaux blends, Rhone blends, and New World blends from regions like California and Australia. The art of blending allows winemakers to enhance the strengths of each grape variety, creating wines with greater depth and character. The flexibility and creativity involved in producing blended red wines make them a favorite among both winemakers and consumers, offering a wide range of styles to suit different tastes.

Critical Acclaim

The estate’s most abundant cuvee of about 5,000+ cases is the 2010 Faugeres, a blend of 85% Merlot with the rest mostly Cabernet Franc and just a small quantity of Cabernet Sauvignon, all bottled unfined and unfiltered. It is another St.-Emilion hitting 1
