Moschofilero is a white grape variety primarily grown in the Peloponnese region of Greece, particularly in the Mantinia appellation. It produces aromatic wines with flavors of citrus, rose petals, and a touch of spice. The ABV for Moschofilero wines generally ranges from 11-13%. Its popularity is due to its ability to produce fresh, vibrant wines that reflect the unique terroir of Greece.
The cool, mountainous climate and varied soils of the Peloponnese provide ideal conditions for Moschofilero, allowing the grape to retain its natural acidity and develop its characteristic aromatics. Moschofilero is often used to produce both dry and off-dry wines, showcasing its versatility. The grape's light, zesty nature and its ability to produce expressive, aromatic wines make it a favorite among winemakers and wine enthusiasts seeking distinctive and refreshing wines from Greece.
