The artwork is a homage to glassmaker Emile Gallé who painted a special bottle that was found in 1902 in a nondescript cupboard gathering dust. The Belle Époque Rosé is a smooth and finely chiselled, subtle and rich wine, with myriad floral notes and a long finish, to be enjoyed as an aperitif, throughout the evening.

The colour is light onion-skin in shade; still a nice pink but showing appropriate evolution. The bouquet is superbly nuanced hickory-smoke, savoury, toast and quince-paste, vanilla, bread, rose and strawberry, pink grapefruit and pastry. A very fine, detailed, complex wine of wonderful subtlety and lightness of touch. Absolutely gorgeous flavour and texture. A great wine. This bottle impressed me much more than the one tasted earlier this year.
